History, Mission, and Values

Brown College of Court Reporting was founded in 1972 by Forrest M. Brown, a recognized leader in the field.

Today the college enjoys a national reputation for excellence, with thousands of skilled graduates setting the industry standards for court reporting in Georgia and around the country. Brown College leaders and alumni are passionate about the practice of court reporting—its unique demands, exacting personalities, and universally valued role in the justice system.

For 45 years, Brown College has built and maintained a highly regarded brand, while evolving to keep pace with industry trends and breakthrough advances in court reporting technology. In 2009, Brown was purchased by Coyne American Institute, an organization with more than a century of career training experience and two campuses in the Chicago area.
